Onshore QRA and Facility Siting Study

A brown field site in a remote location had a planned maintenance campaign scheduled requiring an extensive number of additional accommodation and office buildings. RJE Risk Consultants were engaged to revalidate the existing QRA using REQ1© with regards to the facility's current and expected process operating conditions,  and recalculate the occupied building risks within existing and planned structures.

 

Overpressure exceedance curves were generated on all buildings around the site.  Bespoke building vulnerability cures were generated using P-I (pressure-impulse) curves and probabilistic overpressure and impulse plots generated in the QRA software.

Population and occupancy data was overlaid on location specific risk data to calculate estimated Individual Risks, Potential Loss of Life, and F-N curves (Frequency of exceeding Nor more fatalities). Chemical Industry Authority (CIA) and API 752 guidance was then applied to advise on the suitability of using buildings and areas for new purposes.
