Richard Emery
Founder and Principal
Dr Richard Emery (MEng, CEng) has worked in process engineering and technical safety in a wide range of engineering environments, including EPC, Consultancy, Industrial Services, Technical Authority (TA), and Duty Holder Operations. He is a Visiting Professor at the University of Chester where he teaches the 3rd year Safety and Loss Prevention Module . Dr Emery has developed multiple software applications for on and offshore QRA, consequence modelling, smoke and gas ingress modelling, ship collision, dropped object probability and impact prediction.
Dr Emery obtained a 1st class MEng degree & PhD in Chemical Engineering, both from the University of Leeds. He is a chartered engineer, qualified functional safety engineer, and experienced HAZOP and other workshop facilitator. He has over 20 published papers in multiple technical journals including the IChemE HAZARDs conferences
Katharine Smith
Founder and Principal
Katharine Smith is an experienced HAZOP, HAZID, Design Safety Review, LOPA, and other workshop scribe. She has worked as a technical report and scientific paper proof reader and communicator for a number of years.

Ali Sharif
Principal
Ali Sharif (MEng) has extensive technical safety experience in Consultancy, Industrial Services, and Duty Holder Operations. He has significant project management and client development experience. His most recent role has been to act as Technical Safety focal point for an oil major, responsible for all Safety Case regulatory and operational issues.
Mr Sharif achieved a 1st class MEng degree in Chemical Engineering from UMIST.
